Learned at the activities

Dear organizer,

In ULACIT many extracurricular activities that help to get rich knowledge in students. These activities can have knowledge in other fields such as health, technology, psychology and many other areas. This puts us in touch with current world issues. This university is one of the few nationwide that tries to give the student a global training. We note that in undertaking these activities the students of other college can interact and there better communication. I congratulate the persons who carry out such workshops, and thanks to the efforts and dedication of them we have this type of learning. Finally, I ask students to collaborate with attendance and good behavior in the activities, and will reward the efforts of people who are behind all this.

Slang in the United States

Slang is casual spoken language which differs from dialectical speech and jargon as well as formal speech. Some linguists think of slang as the sprinkles of color in a language, since slang is often unique, unusual, and sometimes startling. As a general rule, slang is not used in formal spoken language, or in writing, unless the speaker is attempting to achieve a deliberate effect. Some slang terms, however, make the jump from slang to accepted common usage, as was the case with “OK”. Generally, slang diffuses through a group of people, and it may spread out across an entire region or class. People who are not in that group may pick up the slang as well, causing the usage to spread, or the slang may remain isolated to a smaller subgroup. College students, for example, often develop complex slang terms, with slang from different regions diffusing on a college campus. Finally, this is example of famous slang in the movies: Hasta la vista, baby. (Terminator) , Beam me up, Scotty. (Star Trek)

Exercise and health

People today do note at well and are sedentary. The food is now heavily contaminated with pesticides and toxic substances to our bodies. Also people do not eat at times and that are abused a fast food. All this plus the lack of exercise, mean that people have many health problems. Increased physical activity can give a longer life and improved health. Exercise helps prevent heart disease and many other problems. Exercise is important for most people, but is especially important if you are trying to lose weight. Call your doctor before starting any exercise routine, especially if you have any medical condition or if there are other reasons why caution should be exercised when performing any exercise. That´s why we must be fed properly with fruits, vegetables, meat, healthy and doing exercise regularly, makes a better life. Finally, take care of your health and body to enjoy both a healthy life full of happiness.

Egypt

People say that one of the places we should know before death is Egypt with the incredible sphinxes Cairo pyramids, Temples, ancient tombs, ancient monuments to the pharaohs with their treasures were hidden for centuries, this route can be done with an exciting camel ride, of course you cannot miss the amazing River Nile, across the desert from Cairo where there is possibility of taking a cruise of one or several days. Egypt is a place with an ancient culture and its people know that is why they built a few years ago one of the largest museums, which displays amazing works of art and the bazaar where you can buy crafts and unique handmade things. The best months to travel to Egypt it is between October and May, when the sky is clear you can see the view, between April and November to anger the dive sites are the best. I hope someday to exploit this great country, because this is my dream destination.

My favorite restaurant

My favorite restaurant is Rostipollos. This is an excellent place to enjoy with family and enjoy the delights of chicken. It is a place that has a large menu for those who like chicken. It has a wide variety of dishes made from chicken, and of course this without forgetting is traditional chicken firewood. It is an ideal place to take the family as quiet. In this restaurant you can taste delicious and cheap, for all tastes and budgets. But to me what I really love their food than is the design of the place. It has a very special decoration, which gives a very personal touch. Finally, a good restaurant should be the ideal place to enjoy good food, cheap and enjoyable.

Impact of video games

For several years, video games occupy much of their free time our children and their demand is increasing. Surprising that six years a child can master a console, but in most households with children under 14 years is a console and are becoming more attractive and accessible. Video games have evolved greatly, especially in its visual quality, but also their teaching skills. Currently, many schools use games to teach certain subjects and teach values. However, the nervousness before the game often is motivated by ignorance of its benefits and/or damages. This kind of entertainment can lead to social isolation, which parents must pay attention and see that our children do not lose when the north plays, and to propose other activities. Finally, video games are not harmful, but is excess is the danger. As parents we guide our children including the type of entertainment they have.

Etiquette

There is nothing better than to ask “please” and “thank you”. People today forget something as basic as that. People to live must have rules of etiquette. It’s important to have respect and to be courteous with others. There is a well known, “no matter what you do not like you do”. If put into practice this, always done the right before the people. Finally, when you eat with others and much more when they are strangers, be careful and keep the rules of etiquette, because there is nothing more disgusting than watching bad table manners. Crime in Costa Rica

By this means, I must tell you my concern over the increase in crime in our country. Just as the lack of strong laws to put the guilty behind bars. Crime in Costa Rica is making mischief, and the guilty are going free for lack of evidence, ineffectiveness of the police and misconduct by prosecutors or lawyers in the judiciary. That’s why, I appeal to your wisdom and steady hand to try to restore security to our people. Or that every day a person murdered by a single cell phone or a bus pass and our authorities do nothing about it. I think it’s time to go Costa Rica that peace and tranquility, where people could leave their homes and businesses without fear of being assaulted or even worse killed. No hope in becoming the next Mexico or Colombia, to try to do something. Please do not forget the innocents who live accidentally locked in our own homes, which often seem real jails. While the guilty live free…

My community

My community is Ciudad Colón and I am going to describe as I see it. This is a very quiet community, where you can still see a lot of nature around. In a safe and friendly town, where children can still go out and play in the streets without having the dangers of the city. In recent years we have built many condos, which have brought great jobs and lots of architectural beauty to the people. But this and the opening of the new highway to Caldera caused major traffic chaos around my community. This makes it difficult to navigate and brings great dangers on the road. But this does detract from the beauty of the place. In this community are supermarkets, clinics, banks, restaurants, bars, pizzerias and all kinds of shops for needs of people. Anyway, all this makes my community a beautiful place to live and enjoy family. ¨Cuidad Colòn , a town of peace…¨

Reading

Dear people…

Reading is a great of culture and world full of learning, but in recent years the technology shifted. Reading helps us learn new vocabulary and improve spelling. It also gives us a world of entertainment, that reading transports us to a world of magic created by our own mind. Reading is ideal tool if this person learns a new language, especially English, as it enhances our pronunciation and vocabulary. But today people gradually lost the habit of reading, because the technology is so involved in our lives, we have no time for almost anything, much less to read. People make most of the activities through technology, a high percentage work in front of a computer, studying through the Internet and entertainment when used video games, TV, film another technological device. Therefore, we must promote reading to our children, that is source of learning and mental development hasn`t limits. Fostered this habit, give books our children, taking them to libraries, storytelling and that letting them fall in love with the books they shrink their own readings. Finally, reading will always have more advantages than disadvantages, so it`s a habit we must retake and pass on to our next generations.

The ideal job

My ideal job is to work with people and machine. I want to work for myself. I would like to have my own company so as to use all my skills. I want to be my own boss. I love money so I hope to generate enough with my work and effort. I’m a trustworthy and workaholic person. I don’t care if I have to work outdoors or indoors. Workplace is not important, but the job is very important. Finally, this would be my ideal job for me.

About myself

My name is Rafael Alvarado Sanchez and I am going to describe myself, to express my expectations, and to write something that I like. I study Industrial Engineering in ULACIT; this is my second year at university. It really started in 2004, but for personal and health reasons had to leave my studies and so far I could take them up again. I have 32 years old and I was born October 11. I consider myself a happy, fun and friendly, who enjoys playing soccer with friends. My expectations in academics and business are to finish my career and generate new clients nationwide and internationally. And personally educate my kids Tomás and Sebastián, to have a good future. I am someone who likes outdoor sports, playing video games and spend good time with my family and friends. In conclusion, this is a small description about me and what I think.
